Chris Pratt Speaks Out on the Future of Star-Lord After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Chris Pratt has made it clear that even as James Gunn’s MCU trilogy of Guardians of the Galaxy comes to a close with Vol. 3 this weekend, he is not ready to let go of his character, Star-Lord, just yet. While the beloved team will undergo changes, and some may not survive, Pratt’s commitment to the character remains strong.

Will Chris Pratt reprise his role as Star-Lord?

Ahead of the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Chris Pratt revealed in an interview with GamesRadar+ that he would be open to reprising his role as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in future Marvel movies, even if James Gunn was not directing them. While Pratt acknowledged the importance of honoring Gunn’s masterful work on the first three films and the fans’ love for the character, he also stated that he would rather not continue the story if it meant bringing the character back in the wrong way.

While it remains to be seen if Pratt will ever again have a leading role in a Marvel Studios movie, fans are hoping to see Star-Lord in Avengers: Secret Wars. With Marvel’s multiverse now in play, there are endless possibilities for where the character could go next. As for Gunn, he has taken on a new role as co-CEO and co-chairman of DC Studios, which has left his involvement in future MCU movies uncertain.
