Social Media Users Stands for Justice for Sexually Assaulted Nigerian Girl
|The domestic and sexual violence response team (DSVRT) of the Lagos state police command response to allegations that they have released the culprits who drugged, raped and filmed the assault against a 23 years old girl.
The allegation which was fueled earlier today on Twitter after it was discovered that a famous Nigeria blogger took down the rape video from her site, it was alleged that the move was influenced by the wealthy families of the culprits and that they had also influenced the Lagos police division to release the culprit.
In DSVRT Lagos via his twitter page stated that the alleged rapist 28 years old, Razaq Oluwasegun Oke and 25 years old, Don Chima George are still in custody and would be persecuted.
Reacting to further allegation that Don Chima father an influential businessman had also arrested the victim brother, sister and friend who were following up the case, the DSVRT Lagos stated that such allegations were false and that for as it concerns the case, only the culprits were in custody and re-iterated that “the DPP will ensure diligent prosecution of the case”.
The Lagos State Police Command further added that it is known the police force has a lot of corruption issues but it promises to act in a transparent and honest manner to see that justice is always served and on time.
