How to Flash LG G7 ThinQ with Flash Tool, Firmware or Stock ROM

Earlier on when LG G7 ThinQ was released we published a post to show our readers the features, specifications and price of this most adorable LG device called G7 ThinQ. As well as how you can perform a hard or soft reset when your G7 ThinQ becomes unresponsive or should you choose to give to someone else with no data in it.

Usually, a hard or soft reset with the guide provided for LG G7 ThinQ is supposed to fix any possible software issue you might be experiencing with your LG G7 ThinQ or other similar android devices that the quick fixing guide for issues like camera, Bluetooth, SIM, Wi-Fi, YouTube or other malfunction could solve. But if you have tried that already and it failed then, you should probably opt-in for formatting in this case I will show you how to use SP Flash Tool to format your G7 ThinQ.

Just before you follow the tips below to upgrade or downgrade your LG G7 ThinQ. Do a backup of your personal data (if you can) before flashing:

Follow the steps on:

Method 1: LG Flash Tool

Method 2: LG Smart Tool (on Page 2 or Next Page)

Easy Steps on how to flash LG G7 ThinQ Back to Its Factory State:

Step 1: You will have to download the stock rom of the device you want to flash here (you will need to use KDZ downloader for this download, just copy the link and add to the downloader).

Step 2: These files are normally in kdz format.

Step 3: Now you need to download and install LG drivers here.

Step 4: Now you need to download and also extract the LG flash tools here.

Step 5: Now after extracting the flash file (Stock Rom) of the device you want to flash, copy the KDZ file from the (ROM) folder and paste it into the flash tool folder.

Step 6: Please before doing this, also make sure you have at least 50% or more battery life on the device before trying to flash it.

Step 7: Now you need to boot the device into recovery mode (download mode), you can do this by pressing and holding the volume up or down button and connecting the USB cable to the phone, make sure the USB is connected to the PC first.

Step 8: Now you need to launch LGFlashTool2014 (or any of the versions you downloaded), but you need to run it as an administrator. And note that if it does not start it means you don’t have Visual C++ installed, you need to download and install it.

Step 9: After the flash tool has opened, click on “Select Type” and select “CDMA”.

Step 10: Click on “Phone Mode” and select “DIAG

Step 11: Now you will see “Select KDZ file”, this is where you need to locate the flash file (Stock ROM) of the device you downloaded.

Step 12: Now a quick note for you, if you want to flash the device without losing any files, click on “Normal Flash” you will see it at the bottom. But if you want a full device flash, click on “CSE Flash”. But please only use this only if you want to upgrade or unbricking the device.

Step 13: Now click on “Start” and a dialog box will show up for you to select a language, do that and click on “OK” and wait for it to complete the process. Always remember after flashing, first booting will always take time, thanks for reading.
