Twisted Metal Series Unveils First Teaser Trailer Featuring Anthony Mackie and Classic Clown Character

Peacock has just dropped the highly anticipated teaser trailer for its upcoming comedy series, Twisted Metal, based on the classic video game. The trailer features Anthony Mackie, famed for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who will be playing a leading role in the series. Fans can also catch a glimpse of his heavily armed vehicle, staying true to the iconic Twisted Metal gameplay. And of course, no Twisted Metal adaptation would be complete without the infamous clown and his ice cream truck, making an appearance in the trailer.

What will the theme of Twisted Metal be?

The synopsis of Twisted Metal reveals that the series will revolve around Mackie, an outsider who receives an opportunity for a better life. However, he must first complete a perilous journey through a post-apocalyptic wasteland to deliver a mysterious package. The half-hour live-action TV show is an action-packed comedy based on an original concept by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith. Alongside a tough axe-wielding car thief, Mackie will face ruthless marauders driving deadly vehicles, as well as the infamous clown driving an eerie ice cream truck.

As a fan who played the classic PlayStation game series as a child, I hope that the Twisted Metal series will do justice to the title and bring it back in all its next-gen glory.
