In my opinion, the Marvel’s Spider-Man games stand out as the finest Sony PlayStation exclusives available on PC thus far (although Ratchet & Clank is set to debut in July). Surpassing renowned titles like God of War, Horizon, and The Last of Us, both Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales deliver an incredibly enjoyable action-adventure experience, complemented by exceptional PC ports. Now, thanks to a tempting Steam sale, you can acquire both games at their lowest prices ever on the Valve storefront, just in time for the highly anticipated Spider-Man 2. So, be sure to seize this opportunity swiftly (I couldn’t resist a web-slinging pun).
For those who haven’t witnessed them in action yet, Insomniac’s duo of open-world games take the group combat mechanics of the Batman Arkham series and elevate them to the realm of high-speed flow that epitomizes the abilities of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. It’s truly astonishing how swiftly everything unfolds, while maintaining a sense of seamless precision.
During gameplay, there were moments where I could hardly believe I was pulling off some of the incredible sequences. Yet, it always felt like I was in complete control, rather than the game simply executing the cool stuff on my behalf. In a short span of time, you’ll find yourself effortlessly zipping between adversaries, webbing some to walls with sticky precision, neutralizing others with an array of gadgets, and skillfully tossing them skyward for an aerial pummeling before dramatically hurling them into a crowd of their compatriots. It’s an absolute delight.
As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Spider-Man 2 on PC, which may still be some time away, there’s no shortage of exceptional superhero games to indulge in if you have a penchant for wielding great power and shouldering great responsibility. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, you can explore the realm of the best free PC games and discover a plethora of enjoyable experiences without spending a dime.
