The Division 2 Cracks Down on Cheaters with Ban Hammer

The Division 2 is about to experience a wave of suspensions as Ubisoft takes action against players who have been exploiting a glitch that the company has yet to fix. In an effort to level the playing field, Ubisoft is imposing two-week bans or even permanent bans on players who have been found guilty of using the exploit.

Acknowledging the issue of players utilizing the glitch to exploit progression in Division 2, Ubisoft has released an official statement addressing the matter. The statement reads as follows:

“We would like to address an important issue regarding the Descent game mode. It has come to our attention that certain players have been taking advantage of a bug within the game, allowing them to join another player in Descent through the Ubisoft Connect interface and gain an unfair amount of XP and SHD levels.”

“We take these matters very seriously and are fully committed to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for all players. After a thorough investigation, we have identified individuals who have consistently abused these exploits.”

Please note that actions are being taken by Ubisoft to rectify this situation and ensure that players can continue to enjoy Division 2 without unfair advantages.

Ubisoft has further clarified the consequences for players involved in the Descent glitch in The Division 2. First-time offenders will face a two-week suspension, during which they will be unable to access the game. Additionally, their accounts will be flagged, and if they commit another offense, they will face a longer suspension. Continued offenses could ultimately lead to a permanent ban from the game.

In addition to the suspensions, players who exploited the glitch will have their accounts rolled back. This means that any progress gained through the exploit will be reset. Ubisoft’s intention is to ensure that every player has an equal opportunity to succeed and compete on a level playing field.

These actions by Ubisoft demonstrate their commitment to maintaining fairness and integrity in Division 2, as they work diligently to address and rectify the issues caused by the Descent glitch.
Although some may perceive Ubisoft’s punishments for the Descent glitch in Division 2 as severe, they are necessary to ensure that players who have been playing the game as intended do not feel overlooked. In the case of live-service multiplayer titles, glitches need to be addressed promptly to maintain a fair and balanced gaming experience.

Furthermore, it remains uncertain whether this particular glitch affects all platforms. If it doesn’t, it creates an unfair advantage for certain players while leaving others significantly disadvantaged.
