The creator of “Left 4 Dead” has released a new cooperative zombie shooter
|Left 4 Dead, a co-op first-person shooter, was one of the games that epitomized the PC Steam digital distribution platform in its early years. A party of four players had to find their way to safety while a zombie horde pursued them throughout the game’s several brief adventures.
Although Left 4 Dead wasn’t the first zombie shooter ever created, it was the most popular for many years and inspired a sequel a year after its first release. Although Left 4 Dead 2 was released in 2009 and continues to be played by hundreds of people today, its creator, Turtle Rock Studios, has not yet produced a follow-up. And even if a Left 4 may never exist,
After the cooperative monster hunter Evolve failed to gain a following, Turtle Rock has been quiet, but this week the developer company revealed Back 4 Blood as its upcoming title.
Back 4 Blood is a co-op zombie shooter developed from the ground up for the current generation by the same team that crafted Left 4 Dead.
It’s difficult to emphasize enough what a fantastic chance this is. “With almost ten years of extra expertise and a stockpile of zombie ideas in our heads, we get to return to a genre that was created at our company,” said Chris Ashton, co-founder and design director of Turtle Rock Studios. “With Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, we have some of the greatest teammates in the industry that understand our player-centered mindset.” We enjoy being able to make announcements so that we can get to work with the neighborhood right away.
Turtle Rock stated that it is concentrating on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC as launch platforms but did not provide any price or release date details.
There will be campaign and player vs. player modes, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what the game’s plot is about or what new features the developer is adding.
