A $5 Subscription Fee Per Month to Your Leading YouTube Influencers

Content creators on YouTube and their viewers should know that the leading video streaming platform have rolled out a new way to sponsor YouTube video creator influencers, a five-dollar subscription each month. In fact, it’s just one among other new ways fans can contribute to established content creators, and a move that could help YouTube better compete with other streaming platform like Amazon’s switch.

Apart from the new Channel Membership feature rollout on Thursday 21st June 2018 at the VidCon conference in Anaheim, California, they have also introduced a new feature that will enable video creators to sell merchandise. Although the bad news as at the time this post was published is that not all YouTubers out there will be able to take advantage of these new monetization tools.

These options are currently available to video creators who have reached over 100,000 subscribers. For $4.99/month, their fans will have access to unique perks from creators, including exclusive live streams or new videos, but also new badges, emojis, shout-outs, and Members-only posts in the Community tab.

For YouTubers who want to sell merchandise on their channel, they will need at least 10,000 subscribers on their channel, according to what YouTube explained. Creators can sell up to 20 items on a shelf on their channel.

It’s quite clear enough, that if you don’t have lots of subscribers, you won’t be able to get into any of the program. In fact, a 1,000 subscribers and minimum of 4,000 watch hours of last year is what it takes to get started in the process of making money from YouTube ads. That’s the milestone to beat before being able to sell products or channel memberships on your channel.

To top this up, they talked about their new Premieres feature, a new way to upload pre-recorded video content to YouTube as a live moment. The idea here is that creators will be able to build anticipation for new material.
