How to Flash BlackBerry Motion with Reload (Flash) Tool, Firmware
|Earlier on when BlackBerry Motion was released we published a post to show our readers the features, specifications and price of this most adorable BlackBerry device called Motion. As well as how you can perform a hard or soft reset when your Motion becomes unresponsive or should you choose to give to someone else with no data in it.
Usually, a hard or soft reset with the guide provided for BlackBerry Motion is supposed to fix any possible software issue you might be experiencing with your BlackBerry Motion or other similar android devices that the quick fixing guide for issues like camera, Bluetooth, SIM, Wi-Fi, YouTube or other malfunction could solve. But if you have tried that already and it failed then, you should probably opt-in for formatting in this case I will show you how to use SP Flash Tool to format your Motion.
Just before you follow the tips below to upgrade or downgrade your BlackBerry Motion. Do a backup of your personal data:
- Setup an auto or carry out a manual backup regularly of your BlackBerry Motion following our guide here with data or Wi-Fi connection.
- You can also backup your BlackBerry Motion offline – without an internet connection following the steps provided here.
Steps on how to flash BlackBerry Motion with BlackBerry powered by Android OS Reload Tool:
First of all, visit our Firmware page and download a stock ROM and reload tool for your:
- BlackBerry Motion
Note: You will need to place your phone on charge with a working charger till you are sure it has charged above 50 percent before your formatting process commences else your phone might not wake up even after formatting.
Next, you will have to follow the instruction of using a Reload Tool as explained here below.
And also, note that commpleting the reload of the OS will erase all local data from the BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android.
Step 1: First of all, you need to download and Install the USB drivers for the BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android.
Step 2: Follow by Downloading the applicable autoloader .zip file for your BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android by visiting this support page.
Step 3: Press and hold both the Power and Volume Down buttons for 30 seconds to boot the BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android into fastboot mode. Alternatively, press and hold the Volume Down while turning on BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android and selecting Reboot into fastboot (when in fastboot mode, the PRIV will display the BlackBerry Bootloader Menu and a purple LED while the DTEK50 will display the BlackBerry Bootloader Menu with no LED )
Step 4: Reload the OS on the BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android. To complete the reinstall, please see the following;
Windows
Step 5: Open and extract the downloaded autoloader file (including all files and folders)
Step 6: Open the extracted folder
Step 7: Execute the bat
Step 8: Follow on screen instructions as prompted
Mac OS X
- Locate and extract the autoloader file (note the location of the downloaded autoloader file (example: Documents, Downloads, Desktop))
- Next, you will have to rename extracted folder to PRIV
- After that, you will need to open Terminal(Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
- Type cd <location of autoloader>/PRIV
- Type ./flashall.shand press Enter
- Follow on screen instructions as prompted
