Pixel 7a Leak Reveals Impressive 72-Hour Battery Life and More Exciting Features

It appears that the Pixel 7a will be making its debut at Google’s I/O 2023 event, which is just a few weeks away. Several leaks have already surfaced regarding this new budget-friendly phone, which further cements the notion that the Pixel 7a will be the affordable phone to look out for this year. Essentially, the Pixel 7a is a variant of the Pixel 7, featuring a few compromises in terms of specifications that make it more affordable. It’s expected to sell at a great price, which may get even lower in the coming months.

The most recent leak regarding the Pixel 7a showcases what seems to be Google’s marketing materials for the device. These materials confirm the phone’s main specifications, while also indicating that the Pixel 7a will offer 24 hours of battery life. Additionally, with the Pixel 7a’s Extreme Battery Saver, the phone’s battery life can be extended up to 72 hours.

This battery life claim may sound familiar, as a previous leak regarding the Pixel Fold, Google’s upcoming foldable flagship phone, also suggested a similar battery behavior. The marketing materials for the Pixel 7a indicate that the phone uses Adaptive Battery, which relies on machine learning to prioritize the apps that are most frequently used. With the Extreme Battery Saver mode, power-hungry features can be turned off, and most apps will be paused, enabling the phone to reach up to 72 hours of battery life.

The leaked marketing materials not only confirm the battery life claims of the Pixel 7a but also give us a sneak peek at its design. The Pixel 7a will have a similar design to the Pixel 7 models, with a horizontal camera bar on the back. The marketing materials do not explicitly mention a glass rear panel, but it is speculated due to the confirmation that the phone will have wireless charging, a first for a Pixel A-series phone.

In addition to the wireless charging feature, the Pixel 7a will also be the first Pixel A-series phone to feature a 90Hz display. The Smooth Display technology will automatically adjust the refresh rate depending on the app being used, ranging from as low as 60Hz to 90Hz. This dynamic refresh feature is expected to help conserve battery life.

Moreover, the leaked marketing materials for the Pixel 7a have confirmed a camera rumor that suggested the phone would feature a 64-megapixel main camera. The documents suggest that the Pixel 7a will offer “the best quality photos ever on an A-series device.”

Additionally, the marketing materials reveal that the Pixel 7a will be powered by the same Tensor G2 custom processor that powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This is great news for those interested in the upcoming handset. With improved design, camera upgrades, up to 72 hours of battery life, and a powerful processor, the Pixel 7a seems like a must-have device.

Unfortunately, the marketing materials do not provide any information on availability. However, previous leaks have suggested that the Pixel 7a will be priced at $499 when it is released next month, with preorders expected to begin soon after the I/O 2023 event.
