Massive Xbox exclusives Redfall and Starfield are postponed until 2023

On Thursday, Bethesda made the decision to push out the release dates of Redfall and Starfield to 2023. The next single-player role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios, the company behind the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, is called Starfield. Redfall, an open-world first-person shooter, was created by Arkane Studios, best known for Dishonored and Deathloop.

Releasing Starfield and Redfall in 2023

Bethesda announced the delays for its final two 2022 releases in a tweet on Thursday.
These were not only expected to be two of the biggest games of the upcoming season but also the first Bethesda games to be released exclusively on Xbox systems following the acquisition.

In September 2020, Microsoft acquired Bethesda Softworks and its parent company, ZeniMax Media.
Following the transaction, id Software, Arkane, and other companies joined Microsoft Game Studios.
The teams are also in charge of the Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Prey properties, in addition to the Elder Scrolls and Fallout properties.
Prior to its January $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it was Microsoft’s largest game acquisition of all time.

Nevertheless, Microsoft made it clear that upcoming titles will not be accessible on the PS4 or PS5. Bethesda continued to create games for the PlayStation and Xbox systems.
Ghostwire: Tokyo, released in March, is Bethesda’s last cross-platform title.

Starfield: Will it resemble Skyrim?

This should not be shocking given how frequently studios postpone major releases.
The size of Bethesda games is one of the reasons why they are so well-liked.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was first released more than ten years ago, and the company is continuously putting out new iterations of the game, all of which are still quite successful.

Given this, it is clear why Microsoft’s acquisition of Starfield will be its jewel in the crown.
After more than 25 years, Bethesda Game Studios has not created any new intellectual property.
It’s also the group’s first new single-player RPG since Fallout 4 was released in 2015.
One of them has to be Starfield’s biggest game of whatever year it launches.

How does Redfall work?

Redfall is a subject about which we know a little more than Starfield.
There are four playable characters in this cooperative first-person shooter, and each one has special powers.
In the Massachusetts town of Redfall, you will band together with allies to battle vampires and other adversaries.
Redfall is being built by the same group that created Prey and Dishonored.

Although we haven’t yet seen the official video of either game in action, this should shortly happen.
According to Bethesda, the game’s “first deep dive into the gameplay” will be shown soon.
They could be discussing the June Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, we think.
