Follow the step-by-step application process below to get started To apply for Fulbright Scholarship 2023:

Step 1: Apply Online

To apply for the Fulbright program, you need to gather a variety of materials , which will help the USEFP assess your qualification. All materials must be submitted with your application.

Step 2: Prepare your academic transcripts and degrees

All transcripts and degrees of a 4-year bachelor’s degree -Degree or its equivalent: Equivalent programs include three-year international undergraduate programs or ACCA. PhD applicants must also submit their MPhil or MS degrees and transcripts. You can also apply during your final year of study as long as you graduate this December.

The USEFP examines your credentials from a holistic perspective, not just your grade point average. They take into account your educational path, the courses you have attended and your performance in the individual courses. They also explain the fact that different universities have different grading systems. There is no minimum GPA to apply, although most successful Fulbright students have strong undergraduate performance. Higher education is just one of the factors used by the Fulbright Panel to evaluate a candidate.

Step 3: Take the general GRE and TOFEL test

When you submit your application, you can use the unofficial GRE score given on the day of the test was awarded, or provide your official score when you receive it. Each competitor must request that ETS send an official score report directly to USEFP using code 9388. General (international) GRE test results are required at the time of application. A decent score for Engineering and Science on the GRE is 315+ and 310+ for other areas.
GREsubject test not required.

The minimum GRE score required to apply for the Fulbright is 138 verbal and 136 quantitative. But generally accepted applicants have a GRE score in the upper percentiles. If you take the GRE multiple times, you can report your best score and Fulbright will only consider that score. TOEFL is NOT required at the time of application. You must take the TOEFL test if you are invited to an interview. IELTS is not acceptable.

Step 4:  Prepare two essays

There are two essays for the Fulbright application. Each essay must be written in the space provided on the application form, which is approximately 800 words. Don’t revise your essays; Just write in plain language so that the Fulbright panel, who don’t know your world, can better understand you. Before you start trials, you need to come up with your own marketing strategy. Successful applicants typically take 4-6 weeks to write and refine their essays.

Step 5: Three letters of recommendation

You must submit three recommendations with your application by the application deadline. You can have 3 academic letters of reference, or 2 academic and 1 professional, or 2 professional and 1 academic. In other words, 1 academic reference letter is a must. Your references must fill out the reference forms included in the application pack and then sign, stamp and seal them in an envelope. As soon as you have submitted your online application, your reviewers will receive an online form by email.

There is no default formula for “who should write their testimonials”. Sometimes it is also not possible to ask your employer to write a recommendation: the USEFP does not want to jeopardize your current position for the application process. Just find people you know well enough to answer. This can be a former employer, a teacher, or a investigator.

Step 6: Create an academic CV

A recent summary and more updated An updated CV must be inserted in the space provided on the application form. It is not necessary to have it in a special format.

Step 7: Submit an Online Application

Step 8: Interview

After your written application has been submitted and reviewed, you may be invited to a selection interview. Interview decisions will be made in mid-September and interviews will take place in October. If you don’t hear from USEFP before October, that automatically means you haven’t been selected. The interview is a positive indicator of selection, but not a guarantee of admission. The interviews last between 15 and 30 minutes and are conducted by a panel of 4 people.

You must bring your TOEFL score sheet with you on the day of the interview and it is not mandatory to have taken the TOEFL test by the date of the interview.
